Rock Band Academy
Service Description
Rock Band Academy Join a weekly group of peer band members at Bellinghome School of Music to use rhythmic instruments, keyboards, microphones, and other instruments to learn and practice the dynamics of being in a band. Previous musical experience is welcomed and not required. Being in a band requires dynamic skills such as choosing and communicating which songs to play, balancing individual and group goals, exploring possibilities and making choices, communicating difficult messages such as when someone’s instrument is too loud, navigating digital media to find songs and lyrics, reflecting on whether individual goals and desires are being met, using music to practice listening, and navigating the courage to let others hear your own songs for the first time. Rock Band Academy is guided by Occupational Therapist Chris Wrzesien from the therapy and family coaching clinic Learning Coach LLC and receives peer support from a range of musical students at Bellinghome School of Music.
